World BLN Privacy Policy


 

Introduction

Our registered users (“Members”) share their professional identities and company information, engage with their network, exchange knowledge and professional insights and find business and career opportunities. Content and data on some of our Services is viewable to non-members (“Visitors”).

This Privacy Policy applies to worldbln.com, WorldBLN-branded apps,  communications and services (“Services”).

From hereinafter, World Business Logistics Network will be referenced as WorldBLN.

 

Data Controllers and Contracting Parties

WorldBLN will be the controller of your personal data provided to, or collected by or for, or processed in connection with, our Services; you are entering into the Membership Agreement with WorldBLN.

As a Visitor or Member of our Services, the collection, use and sharing of your personal data is subject to this Privacy Policy and updates.

Types of Data collected

Registration

To create an account you need to provide data including your name, email address and/or mobile number, general company details, company bank information, services your company provides, licenses owned by your company, six of your clients information, your company operations and management team information, primary contacts of your company, a username and a password.

 

Profile

You have  choices about the information on your profile, such as your photo, and company logo. You don’t have to provide additional information on your profile; however, profile information helps you to get more from our Services, including business opportunities to find you. It’s your choice whether to include sensitive information.

We do not require Members to include sensitive data (e.g., race, ethnicity, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual orientation or criminal record) in their profile. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available.

 

Shipments

We collect the shipment details that you forward to any other member of the network. This is used to provide business opportunities to you. This data is also used in our loyalty program which may benefit the member for the renewal costs for their next year’s membership to the network.

 

Messages

We log the data sent to and from the stand alone messaging section of our Members area website or app. This data is solely used for members to retrieve data for their conversations with the other member.

We do not save the messages that are sent from the Company Details sub-section of the Explore Members Section. These are directly sent as email to the intended Member.

Users who are uncertain about which Personal Data is mandatory are welcome to contact the Owner.

Any use of Cookies – or of other tracking tools – by this Application or by the owners of third-party services used by this Application serves the purpose of providing the Service required by the User, in addition to any other purposes described in the present document and in the Cookie Policy, if available.

Users are responsible for any third-party Personal Data obtained, published or shared through this Application and confirm that they have the third party's consent to provide the Data to the Owner.

 

Other

Our Services are dynamic, and we often introduce new features, which may require the collection of new information. If we collect materially different personal data or materially change how we use your data, we will notify you and may also modify this Privacy Policy.

 


Mode and place of processing the Data

Methods of processing

The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorized destruction of the Data.

The Data processing is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organizational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Owner, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge, involved with the operation of this Application (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner. The updated list of these parties may be requested from the Owner at any time.

Our Services allow you to stay in touch and up to date with partners, clients, and other professional contacts. 

We will use data about you and your company to help others find your profile, send messages to you (via email or messaging functionality), write testimonials for your company, rate your company based on their experience with doing business with your company and forward shipments to your company.

 

Stay Informed

Our Services allow you to stay informed about our annual event, as well as the other activities happening in our network. There is a special notifications section for the same in the Members Area Website and Mobile App.

 

Business Opportunitues

Our Services allow you to collaborate with potential clients, customers, partners and others to do business with. Our Services allow you to communicate with other Members and schedule and prepare meetings with them. 

 

Communications

We contact you and enable communications between Members.We will contact you through email, mobile phone, notices posted on our websites or apps, including text messages and push notifications. We will send you messages about the availability of our Services, security, or other service-related issues. We also send messages about how to use the Services, network updates, reminders and promotional messages from us and our partners. Please be aware that you cannot opt-out of receiving service messages from us, including security and legal notices.

 

Marketing

We use data and content about Members for invitations and communications promoting membership and network growth, engagement and our Services.

 

Service Development

We use data, including public feedback, to conduct research and development for the further development of our Services in order to provide you and others with a better, more intuitive and personalized experience, drive membership growth and engagement on our Services, and help connect companies to each other and to economic opportunity.

 

Surveys

Polls and surveys are conducted by us and others through our Services. You are not obligated to respond to polls or surveys, and you have choices about the information you provide.

 

Customer Support

We use the data (which can include your communications) to investigate, respond to and resolve complaints and Service issues (e.g., bugs)

 

Security and Investigations

We use your data (including your communications) if we think it’s necessary for security purposes or to investigate possible fraud or other violations of our Membership Agreement or this Privacy Policy and/or attempts to harm our Members or Visitors.

 

Legal basis of processing

The Owner may process Personal Data relating to Users if one of the following applies:

 

In any case, the Owner will gladly help to clarify the specific legal basis that applies to the processing, and in particular whether the provision of Personal Data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract.

 

Place

The Data is processed at the Owner's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located.

Depending on the User's location, data transfers may involve transferring the User's Data to a country other than their own. To find out more about the place of processing of such transferred Data, Users can check the section containing details about the processing of Personal Data.

Users are also entitled to learn about the legal basis of Data transfers to a country outside the European Union or to any international organization governed by public international law or set up by two or more countries, such as the UN, and about the security measures taken by the Owner to safeguard their Data.

Retention time

Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for.

Therefore:

The Owner may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to do so for the performance of a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

 

Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after expiration of the retention period.

We attempt to notify Members about legal demands for their personal data when appropriate in our judgment, unless prohibited by law or court order or when the request is an emergency. We may dispute such demands when we believe, in our discretion, that the requests are overbroad, vague or lack proper authority, but we do not promise to challenge every demand.

 

Additional information about User's Personal Data

In addition to the information contained in this privacy policy, this Application may provide the User with additional and contextual information concerning particular Services or the collection and processing of Personal Data upon request.

 

System logs and maintenance

For operation and maintenance purposes, this Application and any third-party services may collect files that record interaction with this Application (System logs) use other Personal Data (such as the IP Address) for this purpose.

How “Do Not Track” requests are handled

This Application does not support “Do Not Track” requests. The owner does not track the user’s actions, neither does the owner keep a log of how a user uses the application. The application stores only the errors that occur (if any) during the use of the app. These are stored for the purpose of improving the user experience and rectifying the errors.

Changes to this privacy policy

The Owner reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by giving notice to its Users on this page and possibly within this Application and/or - as far as technically and legally feasible - sending a notice to Users via any contact information available to the Owner. Should the changes affect processing activities performed on the basis of the User’s consent, the Owner shall collect new consent from the User, where required.
